For many teachers, summer isn’t three months of free time, it’s packed with side hustles like tutoring and daycare. While you’re likely already an expert at helping pre-teens navigate algebra or summer reading, you may not be prepared to sign up new students or to take payments from parents. Fortunately, there’s a simple solution that most teachers love: Using the Payable add-on with a Google Form.
60 million students and teachers worldwide already use Google in school, with nearly half of all teachers in the US reporting that they use Google Workspace. So you’re already familiar with the setup—you just need a way to get paid in the process.
We even have a free template to help you get started. Simply head to the link and copy the Form. Then, install the Payable Add On in the Google Marketplace and activate it in your Form. This lets you connect your Form to Paypal, Square, Stripe or other payment providers. All that’s left is customizing the Form with whatever questions and information you need to collect.
You can collect information like the student’s availability, any important allergy/medical notes, where they prefer to meet (virtual or IRL) and what they’re struggling with or want to focus on in their tutoring sessions. You can set payments for one session at a time, offer subscriptions, or do ‘packs’ of sessions at a discounted rate. It’s up to you how you want to set your prices!
