If you’re set up to use Square in the Payable Add-On with Google Forms, connecting Cash App is a breeze! Thanks to Square’s new Cash App Pay button for apps, Payable is now able to take payments using the popular mobile payment app that’s ranked as the top finance app in the Apple App Store. (And no, you don’t need to be using Cash App to take advantage of this new way for people to pay!)
How to Connect Cash App Pay to Google Forms:
First, make sure you have the Payable Add-On installed and turned in Google Forms, and build your Form as you normally would. (Read our full tutorial here.)
Make sure your Payable check out page is connected to Square, not to any other payment platform.
As you look at the checkout page, as a Square seller, you have a Google Pay option, credit card input, and now, the Cash App button. The Cash App option allows buyers to use the money in their Cash App account.
When that Cash App button is clicked, a QR code will pop up and the buyer can scan the QR code within the Cash App. (Make sure that you test this in the Test Mode within Payable as you set up your Form and Checkout.)
Note that the payment mode will read ‘Wallet,’ referring to the Cash App wallet.
As always, make sure you turn Test Mode off before you share the link to your Form in order to start collecting cash!
To get the Cash App button to appear, a seller must:
- Be in the US and selling in USD
- Connect a Square account as their Payment Provider (you don’t need to have a Cash App account, all sales will go directly into your Square account.)
- Have a one-time payment created with Payable Apps (Cash App is not available for subscriptions) and the button will show automatically above the credit card inputs.
