Erika Hoffman didn’t expect to win the Formula Women competition last year, but now, the young race car driver has found herself on a new TV show, living in the UK, and racing McLarens in Europe. Not bad for a young driver with a dream! Still, while it may sound like a Cinderella story, Hoffman’s journey hasn’t been easy: Uprooting your life to move to another country in a matter of days isn’t easy, nor is the grueling training schedule.
And then, there are the sponsorship commitments and negotiations: Racing cars isn’t free, and drivers—especially newer ones—are often acting as their own agents and managers. Hoffman is no exception. And to simplify things, she’s actually using Payable to share her story with potential sponsors, get information about potential advertisers, and even accept sponsorship dollars all within a single form.

The best part, in Hoffman’s view? It was all free to set up within Google Forms, so she didn’t have to deal with creating a website. It also allows her to set her sponsorship rates and show potential partners exactly what she brings to the table and what it’s worth. And for someone who’s as busy as she is, the ability to easily accept sponsorship dollars AND donations from fans, friends and family allows her to focus on her racing, not on payment processing.
