If you’re a Girl Scout troop leader trying to figure out how to help your Girl Scouts take credit card payments or online orders from friends and family for Girl Scout cookie sales this season, Payable Apps makes it simple. You can create a Google Form that collects order information (including name, address, type of cookies and how many they want) and use the Payable Add-On in order to collect payments all in the same place. This makes it easy for your scouts to sell their cookies to family who doesn’t live close by, and offers a cash-free option for if you’re doing a stand at a grocery store or mall. Even door-to-door sales are simplified by the ability to go cash-free, since most people don’t keep cash on hand to really load up on Thin Mints and Samoas!
You can easily share the link to the Google Form via email or by simply creating a QR code for it (use bit.ly for free QR code creation!) so that potential IRL purchases can be made by scanning the code, then filling out the Form and paying by credit card. You’ll likely increase your cookie sales significantly when people aren’t forced to just use cash on hand… and bonus, your scouts won’t need to make change.
Your scouts can also post the Form directly on mom and dad’s Facebook page or in their email signature to hopefully reach a few extra cookie buyers—and mom and dad can easily share the link at work. It beats filling out that order form by hand and trying to collect cash in the office!
The troop can share one Form—but if you want to keep track of which girl is selling the most cookies, make sure you add a question on the Form about which scout they’re buying from.
You can use Payable with a Google Form for any fundraiser: From bake sales to wrapping paper sales to simple donation drives, we have a template for that.
Payable even has a free Template for Girl Scout Cookie Sales to get you started, right in our template library. Once you’ve make your form, head to Google Forms and get the Payable Add-On. Setup is simple and only takes a few minutes! And Payable only makes money if you do: No subscription fees required. Simply connect to your payment processor (like Stripe, Square or Paypal) and start bringing in cash. You can even add a small credit card surcharge to cover payment processing fees, or incorporate a delivery fee for people who prefer their cookies dropped off.
